We all have been listening to this since our childhood and there is nothing wrong with this statement. Apples have numerous medical benefits because of its composition and the nutritional value it holds. An apple is rich in fiber, vitamins, nutrients, and much more.

1. Antioxidants

Apple has a number of antioxidants like quercetin, catechin, phloridzin, etc. These antioxidants neutralize free radicals which can grow inside the body out of the natural process and once an increase in the count will start damaging the cells which can lead to cancer and diabetes. There are multiple successful research exists which shows quercetin antioxidant helps in preventing Alzheimer.

2. Cholesterol

Apple is rich in fibers and these fibers help in lowering the level of lipoprotein cholesterol amongst healthy people. A study was conducted in 2013 which validated these results.

3. Cancer

Oxidative stress is one of the major reasons for the development of cancer cells within the body. These cells can be neutralized by the intake of antioxidants. Apples are rich in antioxidants and hence have the ability to fight be these cancel inducing cells. In a study performed in 2016, the consumption of apples will reduce the chances of lung cancer, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer.

4. Obesity

Obesity is one of the major problems amongst people of all age groups. Obesity leads to multiple disorders, diseases, and reduce the immunity of the person as well. In a study, it was found that Apple consists of bioactive compounds that will promote gut bacteria. This bacteria is helpful in optimizing the health of people with obesity.

5. Nutrients

Apple is a great source of iron and multiple vitamins like vitamin A, Vitamin B and Vitamin E. A medium-sized Apple contains 94.6 calories, 18 gm sugar, 11 mg calcium, 20 mg phosphorous, around 195 mg potassium, 4.4 hm fiber and other important compounds also, which are necessary for a healthy human body.

6. Heart friendly

Fiber, Vitamin C, and potassium are some of the essentials required for the good health of the heart. A normal medium-sized Apple can provide, 13-20% of daily fiber requirement, 4% of daily potassium requirement and 9-11% of daily Vitamin C requirement.

Fiber helps in reducing blood pressure which is a major reason for cardiovascular attacks. One of the major reasons for cardiovascular attacks is high blood pressure which is caused by tension in blood vessels. Potassium helps in relaxing the blood vessels and helps in reducing the cardiovascular attacks. Vitamin C acts as an immunity booster and helps the body from outside infections and diseases.
